ABOUT: An old story states that Amphicoelias fragillium may have been the largest dinosaur. The story speaks of a huge vertebra (2.4 meters {7.8 feet} tall) discovered in Colorado that crumbled to dust shortly after excavation. Only a drawing remains, so we will never be sure if the story is true.
